Charitable Trusts see investments fall
According to an article in Charity Finance, two of the larger UK charitable trusts have seen drastic falls in the value of their investments as a result of falls in the stock market.
The Welcome Trust saw their investment asset values fall by £1.88 billion.
Of perhaps more concern to voluntary organisations in Lewisham, Esmée Fairbairn saw their investment assets fall by £215 million. As a result their grant giving fell from £23.2m in 2007 to £21.4m in 2008.
