Extension to Framework for Domiciliary Care Services:
Lot 5 - Palliative Care, Carer Respite Scheme

London Borough of Lewisham wishes to extend its existing Framework for Domiciliary Care Services to cover Palliative Care, Carer Respite.  We are looking for a maximum of 4 suitably experienced organisations to be appointed to this lot of the framework to provide a respite service to carers who are caring for patients at the end of their lives.

The 2 core service areas are:

1) CARERS
Carers trained to an advanced level who are competent to undertake high levels of care.
Carers who understand end of life care and are able to meet the needs of the patients as well as provide respite for their carers.

2) PRACTICAL SUPPORT IN THE HOME
Staff who are able to support families through practical help in the home.

This represents approximately 60 hours of work per week.

Existing providers appointed to other Lots on the Framework wishing to be considered for this Lot (Lot 5) will still need to express an interest, in order to participate.  Expressions of interest must be in writing (email, fax or letter), addressed to:

This is a 1-stage (open) tendering process, and tender submissions need to be returned for receipt by 12 noon, on Monday 14th March 2011.  This additional lot under the Framework will run concurrently with the existing Framework until October 2014.
