Our Neighbourhood Engagement project is now underway. The project focuses on two areas:
- Local Assemblies, one for each ward, were established in 2008, providing an opportunity for people to have a greater say about the local area in which they live or work. Our project will work with selected Local Assemblies and voluntary and community organisations to create good communication, understanding and opportunities to work together for the benefit of the area.
- Neighbourhood collaboration is one of the development programmes in the Lewisham Change Up Development plan. It aims to promote collaborative partnerships and projects on a neighbourhood basis. This may include developing joint funding bids, Joint services and/or the greater sharing of resources such as IT and back office functions.
In brief, the project is looking to empower groups.
